Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL FAQ

  • We are a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to preserving Buddhadharma and traditions from South & Southeast Asia. We accept donations on behalf of dharma practitioners that have taken vows not to work or handle money in order to pursue practice. We use our resources to share funds with other organizations, temples, charities, practitioners and people in need, as well as supporting merit making activities across the world.

  • Our main programming is inviting traditional doctor and yogic practitioner SD Yogi to speak on traditional medicine studies and foundational dharma principles.

These talks are online and in person throughout the United States.

We are looking forward to adding more programs, events and opportunities in the future! Please reach out to our team if you'd like to sponsor or host a dharma or traditional medicine event.

  • We have been completely donation-based since our inception in 2022. We are currently working to apply for grants to receive funding for more programs and operational support. Our board is all volunteer and we currently have no paid employees.

  • The board is a small group of practitioners who volunteer to help and participate in various ways sharing their skills and gifts to serve our community, some for a decade or more now. All are practitioners and students of the Dharma. Meet the Board of Directors & Advisory Board here.

DONATIONS

  • Traditionally, dharma and the teachings of the Buddha are offered free of charge and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

It is customary to make an offering or donation, as one would if going to a temple, or seeing a teacher. This exchange of generosity is beneficial to make merit and create good conditions for one’s practice.

For some activities  such as public talks, meditation course and retreats, a charge is required to cover the expenses involved in organizing these events, which can be substantial.

  • If you have a strong interest and are sincere about study but have a financial burden, this can be discussed with the organizers.

Teachings will not be denied to anyone who lacks financial accumulation.

  • If you are blessed with an accumulation of wealth and wish to sponsor any talks, activities or events so more people may access the teachings, your generosity is greatly appreciated and you can contact our Development Director Jessica - donations@triplewisdom.info.

  • This suggested scale is a general guideline for events. Any amount, even $1, is beneficial.

    Minimum Donation - $1-$10

    Standard Donation - $20-$25

    Generous Donation - $50-$100

    Very Generous Donation - $200-$500

    Patron Sponsorship - $500-$1000

  • Teachings Fund – the donations received through this fund go directly to Somananda Yogi to give to his teachers and support the lineage, help those in need, and to support his dharma activities and give to temples.

Triple Wisdom Preservation Fund – the donations received through this fund go towards our operating costs including website domain, hosting, Zoom subscription, email marketing, bank fees not covered by donors, and any other costs that arise for keeping our organization compliant with state and federal agencies.

Other Campaigns – Throughout the year we have specific campaigns for various causes and organizations as they arise. During these times, we send out email newsletters with information about where donations will go and how they will be used if available.
